As is always the way, I’ve gone from no work and no writing news to piles of work and plenty of writing projects to keep me going. And I’m not grumbling but I am spending a lot of my earnings on little treats (coffee & cake) to keep me going. I was also over the moon to receive my first ever ALCS payment this week. It was a complete surprise and although not life-changing, was enough to make a difference and add to my groaning bookshelves. If you’re not registered, you can do it here. It costs £36 to register, which is taken when you get a payment from them, so no upfront costs. Do it!
Now that I’ve done my emails etc for the day, I’m preparing some snippets for an event I’m taking part in next week, and if you’re local to Hexham, you can join in too! Quillseekers is a monthly spoken word event held at Forum Cinema in Hexham and led by poet Caitlin Kendall. I’ll be headlining this month on Friday 29th March, and then sitting back to listen to open mic writers. If you’d like to come and read, it starts at 8pm and is PWYF. Turn up and let Caitlin know if you’d like to read. Would be lovely to see you there!
