Morning writers. It’s a little frosty here but the sun is out, the horse chestnut tree is starting to bloom, bluebells are pushing up through the soil and it finally, finally feels like spring is here. As always, I had great plans for my writing this year that haven’t transpired. But I have written, snippets here and there, and have a few pieces coming out into the world over the next few months. When things go quiet, it’s hard not to feel like you might be forgotten. That if our writing isn’t being read, then we’re not writers.
This isn’t the case though, not at all. Being a writer isn’t just about publication. It’s about observing, thinking, sharing and reflecting. For me, it’s about filling my life with words and sharing these with people around me. Once all my work is out, I’ll do a little summary post so you can see the journey each bit has been on. Because publishing isn’t speedy, and patience and resilience are keys to sustaining a writing life.
If you’d like space to reflect and plan with other writers, join our Creative Check-In this Sunday at 4pm. It’s free for paid subscribers, and it would be lovely to see a few new faces. Subscription is £6 a month, which gets you two online sessions, subscriber only posts and helps me to keep going as a writer.
